Mandatory Reconsideration - PIP was created by amberkindness
I recently went to an medical conducted by ATOS and received my PIP decision today.
I only got 2 points for daily living an this was for communicating with people face to face.
The finding were made mainly on ' Based on the findings and observations made at your consultation in your mental state examination, informal observations, medical knowledge and what you told us' I told the HP (nurse) in detail what my problems were and how my daily functioning is effected. I took notes with me, so I will be able to remember exactly what I said.
I was disallowed planning and following journeys as even though I have been moved work locations to a closer more familiar route, their finding were it would appear I'm managing it as I can plan and follow a journey. I said unfamiliar journeys are difficult. Other reasoning was medication I am taking for anxiety/agoraphobia, I said was helping me but I didn't say it eradicated the problems. I have been having panic attacks lately, mostly at work but it is also a problem on public transport (This has worsened in past two weeks)
Can I ask DWP not to go forward with mandatory reconsideration until I have further supporting evidence from professionals? ( I have recently started seeing a CPN) I think I have an argument for DWP awarding me 2 points for communicating face to face with people and then concluding I have no problems following an unfamiliar journey?
Sorry for the long post. I am quite angry with their decision as I wrote in detail and told them at assessment what my daily functional problems were.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Amber
Sorry to hear of your difficulties.
If you surf this forum you will find many people in the same boat.
Full information and advice on how to appeal including the MR is here
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
The first thing is not to delay requesting the MR. How to do so is in the document. If you require any further assistance please post back here.
Good luck.

Hi foss27,
Thanks for your reply.
I managed to find 50 ways to argue PIP medical but I can't find how to do the mandatory reconsideration?

Please follow the link I gave and read the first 12 pages or so which takes you through the MR.
The guide then goes on to the tribunal appeal if the MR does nothing and you wish to take it to appeal in a tribunal.
