buster wrote: HI, Yes, I was overthinking the PIP1 phone call. It was straightforward. It was a woman with a scouse accent who took the call, sounded rather like Ester McVey. Unbelievably, when asked, she said we had 8 weeks to complete the PIP2. We didn't bother challenging her on this. Please can you confirm my understanding: we have 28 days as from yesterday when we made the phone claim to return the completed PIP2? Many thanks.

Hi b,
You will have 28 days from the date of the accompanying letter that you will receive with The PIP 2 Form, not 8 weeks.
Although, it is possible to request a 2 week extension to the 28 days where applicable.
The accompanying letter should clarify the deadline return date.

This is rather baffling as my daughter is incapable of dealing with such issues due to her development delay and life-long learning disabilities - which they already know about. And she most certainly had nothing whatsoever to do with making the claim - my wife her appointee made the claim over the phone - with me helping.
Anyway they are asking that we reply before the PIP claim can progress. The form that came with today's letter asks: 'What we need to know' and 'Your reply.'
Of course we'll say what what's what on the form and post it to them with proof of posting.
Any ideas what is going on? Have you ever heard of this happening before? What's annoying me is why would they think my daughter had made the phone claim when she had nothing to do with it. There can be little wonder people get in a state of paranoia about these things - dealing with DWP. Thank you.

I don't think you have mentioned your daughter's age, if she is turning, or has just turned 16, then it is usual for the DWP to re-evaluate whether a claimant needs an appointee or whether they are now capable of dealing with their own affairs.
Even if she has been an adult for some time, I don't believe that the letter Is anything more than checking whether an appointee is required.
Whatever happens with the appointeeship, if you are the one completing the PIP2 then you do need to explain why this is necessary.
