DLA To PIP was created by ploppy
I have just had my DLA looked at again and was awarded the high rate care from low and the same on mobility. So when I transfer to PIP, do I have to have another face to face assessment/medical or could they just transfer it over.

Hi p,

Welcome to Benefits and Work :)

If your DLA Awards are Indefinite, you can expect to be invited to transfer to PIP any time running until October 2017.

If you have fixed term DLA awards you can expect to receive your invite to PIP some 16-20 weeks before the end date of the fixed term DLA award.

Have a look at : This Post which includes a link to our PIP Claims Guides.

As you will see, the qualifying criteria for PIP is totally different to that of DLA, so even though you may not have to take part in a face to face assessment if you can provide enough evidence with your PIP 2 Form for the Assessors to make a paper based assessment, you will definitely have to go through the PIP Assessment process.
