My PIP claim

Hi. Its 5 weeks since I sent my PIP completed form. I know we have had Xmas and New Year to delay appointments a bit and I expect I will hear any day. It does feel a long time to be kept waiting and wondering so just querying at point i should ring to see whats happening with my claim and who would I ring ie the DWP or the assessor. Or should I just sit tight and wait. Thanks, just feeling so anxious all the time and its not helping my health.

I called them after 5 weeks. No harm in you doing likewise.

I have today received a letter from the DWP regarding my PIP claim saying they now have all the information and reports to make a decision and they apologise for the delay (7 weeks all ready). When they have made that decision they will write to me. Does this mean the decision has been made by the assessor without a F2F assessment as I havent had one and returned to DWP? And I do realise that no good getting my hopes up as it doesnt mean i realise that I will necessarily receive PIP. Its right isnt it that they can make decisions without seeing people and these need not to be awarded the benefit. Unlike with ESA when you have to be seen. Thank you.

If you haven't had a face2face then it seems they are going to make a decision based on just the paperwork.
It doesn't mean you will get what you think you are entitled to but it would seem harder for them to deny it without a face2face since in your appeal you would be able to refer to the fact that they didn't do one.

They gave no indication in the letter of how long I will now wait. Just wondered if you have any idea if we are talking weeks and weeks. Thank you.
