Hello, I have recently gotten a desicion on my PIP medical and shall be asking for a recondiseratiion.

I have been advised to request a copy of the HCP report.
Would I ring the letter at the top of the desicion letter?

Also when asking for a reconsideration do I ring them and they send me a different form to fill in or do i just write it out and post a letter asking?

Hi ms89,

I'm sorry that the PIP claim did not go in your favour. Yes, you phone the number at the top of your decision letter to request a copy of the paperwork. You can ask for the MR at the same time if you wish but we do advise following that up in writing.

There is no specific form to request the MR. This is covered in our PIP guides.

When you have the report and understand where your claim failed we will be able to offer more focussed advice.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Miss Sarah, I would definitely say put it in writing that you want your letter. My carer has now made two phone calls and still nothing. I sent two letters by recoreded delivery to both of the addresses that were on my PIP letters because there were two different addresses.

Hopefully I'll get mine tomorrow but I won't hold my breath.

If you have a social worker or anything i suggeest getting them to phone and ask for you. In my experience that is pretty much the only time they ever actually do anything they say at the DWP.

Just saying so that it prevents you from possibly having a similar experience.
