WCA waiting time was created by caz2512
Hello. I am currently on week 18 waiting for my WCA (new claimant). Is this normal? I can't find any up to date info out there that can verify waiting times. Am I right in thinking that it could take 6 months? I'm in Scotland and a novice benefits claimant so any help is much appreciated. What a stressful situation to be in! I feel like I'm under a microscope and that I'm a criminal and a liar......

There is no prescribed time for a WCA to take place within, in most areas the DWP are prioritising new claims over old so that they are completed in what should be the standard 13 weeks, if you are now at 18 weeks it would suggest that your area is not doing this.
You can contact Maximus / HAAS / CHDA, whatever they are known by in your area, for an update on timescales.
