Hello. First time post, but been a member for a while.

I have recently (September) had to submit assessment forms for both my ESA and for transfer from DLA to PIP.

I had an ATOS assessment scheduled in Edinburgh for Thurs Nov 19 at 8:50 am, some 45 miles from where i live.

On Friday 13th Nov my GP contacted them and spoke to the assessor responsible for my case, Andrea W.

My GP gave me her direct number and told me to contact her to confirm.

I phoned Andrea W at ATOS Edinburgh on Monday 16th. She confirmed she had spoken to my GP and, further, that she had completed my assessment based upon my ESA and PIP forms and evidence provided by my GP. She said that my form answers were consistent with my GP's evidence and medical history and that she needed no further information and that I would not need to be assessed in person and so was not to attend on the 19th. She said she had already submitted her assessment to the DWP.

I asked her if she required a copy of my psychiatric report, which I had received too late to submit with my ESA 50 and PIP forms.

She said no, she did not need this, and repeated that her assessment was complete and had been submitted to the DWP, that she required no further information and that I was not to attend on the 19th. She then wished me good luck with my claim and that was the end of the conversation.

I did not hear anything else from ATOS and did not receive any notice from them that my interview was cancelled other than what I was told on the phone. I did not think too much of this as there was only two days between speaking to Andrea W. and the appointment date.

However, on Saturday the 20th, the day after my scheduled appointment, I received a letter/form from the DWP demanding to know why I did not attend my interview with ATOS!

I have filled the form in explaining as above and giving my GP and Andrea W.s contact details.

Any further advice, anyone?
