My husband wrote to DWP to appeal their decision to award me standard rate care component only. The reply came back very quickly even though he requested that they wait until more information could be sent from my consultants and GP'S, they stated they had reconsidered and the award decision stands.
I am so upset, as they have not even looked at my physical disabilites. I cannot in any way walk 400 meters let alone 4. I have been in a wheelchair for nearly 2 years and the only outings I get is hospital and GP appointments I would like to have some independence but my husband is my carer and he also works full time and is too tired at the weekends. My application was originally completed by a voluntary advisor at Age Concern, I was her last client as she was leaving the week after. I had been referred to them from CAB. She had advised me that I should appeal if I get negative decision but I cannot do this on my own and need professional support. I would be very grateful if someone could help me to do this or point me in the right direction.
