Deceased Wife's Pension Query was created by greyrider
Hi there,
I am on DLA highest rate both components, ESA and Income Support.
I was taxed on the lump sum of my recently deceased wife's pension.
Can I claim it back?
My wife was my main Carer, married 12 years and passed away June 2014.
I haven't had any counselling because they don't do home visits.
Warmest Regards
Andrew xx

I'm afraid we do not deal with tax on the forum.

I don't know the answer to your question, but hope you get the help you need.
Tax Aid is a charity that can help with tax problems if you are under 60 (if 60+ it's Tax Help for Older People).
If you are over 50, then Age UK might be able to advise you on this, they have a national helpline and I think local branches may be able to do a home visit.
You've probably tried the HMRC tax helpline? I understand it's hard to get through.
All the best
