Health & Disability Work Coach Pathfinder in Poole was created by Kit
I've never used a Forum before, so I hope people will be lenient if I've made basic errors.
I couldn't see a thread about Health and Disability Work Coach pathfinder initiatives in Job Centres.
I'm waiting to hear if I'll be in the WRAG or SG group, but not yet had a work capability assessment. I've been depressed for about two years, but only signed as unfit to work 6-8 weeks ago, because I was unable to ask for any benefits up to then.
I'm getting help from an NHS Vocational Services team, including a job club, an IT workshop and I'm doing volunteering to find out if/when I can return to part-time work again.
I'd like to know of other people's experience of the above DWP pathfinder. I'm told there are others.
At the exploratory meeting about it I was told that the level of support would be introduced at my own pace, only to find that I'm expected to decide yes/no at my second meeting with them.
I've been told by others on ESA to be wary of them, but they've no experience of this initiative. Can anyone out there comment, especially if you're on/been on this pathfinder?
Thanks.
Kit

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
At the moment the Moderators are on a break for Christmas and the New Year so you may have to wait for any answers to appear.
Have you received an ESA50 yet? If not or you have not completed and returned it yet then you should have a look at the ESA Claim guides for assistance on how to complete it. See the following link.
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa1
I'll let other members comment on their experiences in regard to WRAG activities.
The primary thing to be aware of is that any activities that you undertake now, will be considered when you are assessed for ESA, so if you undertake Voluntary work then your ability to do this will be considered and may impact on whether your claim for ESA is successful or not.
Your JC+ advisor can ask you to do a variety of things but you are not required to perform any of these unless you have been told in writing that the activity is mandatory, in which case your benefit can be sanctioned if you do not comply. Any activity must take into account your limitations.
If we can help more come back to the forum and we will do our best to help.
