Hi, Compared to past experiences this went so much better than expected. I was receiving lower rate DLA for both care and mobility and although my conditions have become worse I was worried by the PIP questions thinking I would lose my claim.at the point of automatic transfer. I decidedd to apply for PIP due to the change in my condition.
The assessment centre I attended was within one mile of my home. The decision was made 2 weeks after my appointment - Enhanced care and standard mobility. The decision maker based his decision on my answers to questions at the assessment, observations of my mobility at the assessment and on two medical reports I supplied - a print out of a MRI scan report that was 2 years old and a recent letter written by my GP for another matter giving a summary of all my conditions. (At the assessment I declined to bend over during the physical examination although I was asked to do so twice, explaining why I would not/should not do so).
When I filled in the claim form for PIP I basically copied everything that had been on my old ESA claim form, chopping up the info and answers so that they matched the PIP questions. I also added my own information as an extra.
