The Recorded Delivery Act 1962 and relevant superior court case law are firm foundation that a registered/recorded delivery letter is in law regarded as having been received by the addressee irrespective if the letter failed to arrive.

I spoke to our GP yesterday about the letter of support. He said he had read the report I had written, it was very good and would it help if he just wrote a letter saying everything I had written was consistent with what he knew of my daughter and confirming the diagnosis of Asperger's? I said that would be wonderful so he said the letter will be ready to collect on Monday. I will send it recorded delivery. I need to check before I send it what the correct address is as I have lost the prepaid envelope. I assume it is the same address that I sent the original claim form to.

Hi
Yes send it to the same address. Make sure all your daughters details are on it so the DWP can attach it to the right file.

I've put her reference - NINO plus PIP case number - at the top of each page and numbered each page 'Page 1 of 5' etc.
