PIP Assessor just turned up

I think this is a very sharp practice to catch people off guard. I have never asked for a home visit, although I have nothing to hide, who else would dare turn up on your doorstep without an appointment. I am disgusted.

I explained it was not convenient and I had not been notified of any appointment, she said I should have received a letter in the post. If this was the case why did they not phone before arriving to confirm this appointment, she went on to ask if I wanted to cancel this appointment, I said I cannot cancel something that has never been arranged.

You are entitled to seven days written notice of an assessment, however, your refusal (albeit justified) to allow the assessor in may well count against you as one of your two strikes to attend, unless you can show that Capita failed to notify you or there is Reasonable Cause for you to have not received the letter.
Given the requirement for written notification, it is unlikely that Capita would have attempted to have notified you by phone of the appointment.
