how many reassessments can they send you on?

Hi

I was awarded pip back last June. It was for 2 years. But now I've had a letter through telling me I have to go for another assessment.
Has anyone else ever had this?
Nothing has changed. Not even my address! So I'm struggling to understand why they are putting me through this again so soon. I feel bullied and harassed to be honest. But of course if I refuse they will stop the award.
Is there a limit on how many times they can put you through this just for the same claim? I can't deal with all this stress and worry every few months :(

I'm afraid the DWP are re-assessing the majority of PIP fixed term awards a year in advance of the award ending, if you have a look through the forum you will see that many have/are going through this process.

There is nothing that you can do about this, the PIP legislation allows them to re-assess a claim at any time and for any reason.

You don't mention having received a new PIP2 form, have you received one?

Replied by Trinity on topic how many reassessments can they send you on?
Hi
Thanks for the reply. No I haven't received anything other than a new atos appointment letter.
Should I have something else as well?
Thanks

I've noticed on a few of the PIP PA4 medical reports that the assessors recommended award period matches the date stated for review, and not the end award date on the DWP decision letter.

Thus, if the award letter states the award will run to 2019, but the claimant will be reviewed on 2018, the PA4 shows the award is recommended until 2018.

It would be interesting to match those with PA4s to their award letters to see if that's more widespread - perhaps something for the site owners and mods to chew over ?

If you think you conditions and their limitations have changed since you were last assessed then you should contact the DWP and ask why a PIP2 has not been issued and insist that you that you be given the opportunity to complete one before an assessment is held.

We already know that the vast majority of Fixed term awards are being re-assessed a year in advance of their renewal!
