I know the place that normally do the assessments has either 4 flights of stairs which I struggle with or a lift. Have they taken into consideration what I put on the form I was surprised when they just phoned I never asked for a home visit because I didn't think they would grant me it. Really stressing already although I did have a home visit years ago for Dla but have read so much on here regarding PIP, I hate what we have to go through. I can't remember but do they look around the home at things, what do they do. Thanks in advance
Hi MM,
Capita are more likely to offer Home Assessments rather than ATOS, and they may well have taken into account your stated limitations when offering one.
No, they do not look around your home, and you can choose the room where you wish the assessment to take place.
You may of course wish to point out any aids or adaptations that you use which may be in another room.
You can have someone else present, and they can take notes.
You can read what to expect from around Page 70 of our : PIP Claims Guide. (2nd Link down the page)
Good luck !!

Mrs. Medlam wrote: Well had my f2f yesterday at home with capita am I right in saying that she would have had a report from my Dr, I was so stressed I can't remember her saying. really not sure how it went I can't trust anyone after reading so many horror stories but will let you know the outcome whenever.
Hi MM,
The PIP Assessor should have read all documentation in your PIP Claim File including your PIP 2 Form and any supporting evidence that you sent them.
They would only have a report from your G.P. if you sent it to them, or they requested one, which they seldom do !
You could give it a week or so then ring The PIP Helpline for an update :
