Which address for DWP please? was created by jasonr
Hi,
I have just finished filling in the PIP form for my son as his appointee and have a Doctors letter to include. I remember when I did his ESA50 form we sent a copy of supporting letters to the DWP as well as ATOS. I would like to do the same this time around just to be sure they have all the evidence but do not know which address to send it to as each benefit seems to come out of different offices. Please can you help? Which would be the relevant DWP office to send it to? Your help as always much much appreciated.

Just also wanted to say an enormous thank you to this website and all of you who give of your time. Thank you for all the information and help you give. You are amazing and without your help I suspect even more people would be having to appeal. The forms require so much more thought and detail being given to it than people appreciate initially. So thank you on behalf of my son and myself. Just hope I have done enough for him!

Hi jb,

You're welcome !!! :)

If you have any letters from DWP PIP, send it to the address of The Benefits Office/Centre on the most recent one of those, FAO : The PIP Case Manager (DM)

Sending Documents to the DWP.

Failing that, you could ring the PIP Helpline and ask them which DWP Office will the PIP Case Manager dealing with your Son's PIP Claim be based in ?

Telephone: 0345 850 3322
Textphone: 0345 601 6677
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm

Make it clear that you need the address of The DWP PIP Case Manager and not The PIP Assessment Provider.

It can be difficult to track down the correct office now, and nearly all DWP national mail goes via one of The Wolverhampton Mail Handling Sites, where it is re-directed to the correct office.

Thank you Bro.
like most things related to PIP it is all somewhat vague and confusing!!!!! I will try and find out the address as suggested.

The more I read up on descriptors and their meaning the more confused I became. In the end decided to throw everything at it and now worried my lenghty answers will irritate whoever is reading the form. !!!!

It is finally going off today and am sending it special delivery as advised by many. Think that is without doubt the safest option. Have twice received letters chasing me first about initial telephone contact then about why I had not returned the form. Initially thought they were trying to scare me and get me to complete it more quickly than time allowed but decided in the end to give them the benefit of the doubt and accept they were doing it to help my son for fear his appointee might miss the deadline ;)

Our son is very severely disabled literally unable to do anything for himself cannot walk or talk and I have people say stop worrying of course they will move him from Lifetime award DLA high care and mobility to PIP high care and mobility but I feel nothing is certain in all of this for anyone. I get annoyed when the government talk of people having been on a benefit without being assessed. My son was assessed when he was 5 it was not possible to get DLA at the time if you were younger and we had a DWP doctor come to the house. We had a second assessment early on too and I guess that was when he was awarded it for life. This will now be the third lot of paperwork in18 months I have completed for my son. one ESA, one local authority assessment after the ILF was closed down, for which I wrote 36 pages ultimately doing the social workers job as I did not trust anyone but myself to write everything down that needed to be said and now this PIP. They have all varied just slightly but enough to have to do each one from scratch and it is demoralizing and depressing always focusing on all the negatives!

I will bore you all and let everyone know what happens next!

All any of us can do is our best to tell it as it is. Good luck to everyone going through this very unpleasant experience.

Thank you all again for the amazing job you do of assisting us to get through this.

If you have received a reminder about returning the form then you must return it as a matter of urgency.

If it is not returned by the required ate and no extension to this was granted then there is a risk that the claim will be closed along with your son's DLA claim.

Hi Gordon,
thanks, re responding back by date given (which is why I mentioned it in my post) but forgot to say they had contacted me both times with at least 10 days still to go. The form had to be in by January 15th and they were already chasing us with their letter dated January 4th. I had received it December 21st and would have been unable to do it over the Christmas and New Year period. It was returned special delivery yesterday January11th should be there before 1pm January 12th. I am all too aware of the deadlines and have worried each time! Hope I am correct in thinking once it gets to address on the envelope tomorrow this will be the date it is received by them.

Hi jb.

Once the documents have been received at the address given, by the deadline date given, you have fulfilled your obligation.

Obviously, print off proof of delivery from The Royal Mail website and keep it safe.
