PIP appeals on mental health and how long? was created by Just me098
Hello,
Can someone please tell me as to how long it takes a Tribunal with a paper hearing before you receive a letter to tell you what they have decided?
Can a Tribunal also request further information or do they make their decision on the day of the hearing?
Thanks

Hi
Any appeal hearing can take several weeks whether you appear or it is held in your absence.
The tribunal will make a decision based on the paperwork before them and since they can't ask you questions it carries a risk of less chance of success.
If it goes past 3 months I would suggest ringing and asking how much longer it may take.

A claimant has one month from the date of the DWP submission to make their own, so that would be the earliest for a hearing.
