ESA and going out was created by marnie
I am on Contributory ESA support group - it was a clear cut case and I was awarded after 7 weeks without a medical.
I have now split up with my husband and am living alone. I have severe mental health problems and am being closely monitored by the mental health clinic as they say I am at risk and vulnerable.
Even though it is a terrible ordeal I go out to the shops now twice a week. I try to go early so it is quiet and I am ill when I return. I am only gone about 45 mins. My question is will this make any difference to my benefit ? I can't afford a home help as I'm not on income related benefits. My neighbours think I took early retirement and I'm on a good pension(my husband told them this about a year ago,I don't speak to them).
My condition hasn't changed if anything I have more difficulties now and am unable to work.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

This really depends on why you qualified for ESA in the first place.
The Good news is that the Going Out Descriptor does not have a Support Group equivalent, so you must be in the SG as a result of you meeting another Descriptor.
However, based on the limited information in your post this change does seem to constitute a improvement in your conditions and technically your are required to report this to the DWP.
I would start by discussing this with the team that support you to see what their thoughts on the change are, you should also see if you can find out the basis for your current award, if you don't already have a copy of the assessment report you should still be able to request one by contacting the DWP and asking for a copy of your ESA85A.

Hello Gordon - thanks.
I qualified for ESA support under substantial risk reg.35.
I have seen my CPN and she says I am more at risk now and am likely to have more difficulties. They are monitoring me closely.
What do you think?

It's a Decision that you will have to make!
Reporting an improvement will almost certainly result in your claim being re-assessed. Although you have improved in one area from your post your overall health is worse and this improvement is not directly related to your SG award.
