PIP Q. 11 Planning and following journeys

Hi
My partner has been awarded lower rate mobility after a mandatory reconsideration. He suffers from severe anxiety and cannot go out alone. He was awarded under question 11 e. "You cannot undertake any journey.......... mental distress". We think it should have either been d or f. He is now worried that he will end up having to pay the benefit back as he can go out to attend doctor/hospital appointments but only if I am with him (even then he often cancels). Does answer "e" mean he cannot go out alone or he cannot go out at all? Should he ring DWP and explain this or would it have to go to appeal where he could end up with nothing again.
Thank you in advance.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

If you are concerned that the award has been made for the wrong reasons then I do not think that your partner needs to worry, the DWP have seen all of his evidence (the PIP2 form and anything attached to it) and the report from the assessors and have made their Decision based on these, it's their Decision based on their views of the evidence and understanding of the law!
