Hi
I had my home assessment for PIP on May 5. I know decisions are taking on average 8 weeks. I received a letter from the DWP on Saturday 28th With shaking hands I opened it only to see a very short letter apologising for the delay and that as soon a decision was made they would contact me, if this a standard letter or should I be worried?

It's just a standard letter and in no way reflects any Decision that they might make.

Hi
I received yet another "Sorry it's taking so long letter", dated June 23rd, it is now 8 weeks since my PIP assessment, is this normal or should I be concerned it is taking so long? Thanks. I don't use the phone so don't feel able to chase it up and am scared of the decision anyway. I figure that they are still paying me DLA at the moment.

As I explained previously, the wait has nothing to do with the Decision that will be reached, likely your file is in pile with other claimants waiting to get to the top so that a DM can deal with it. I understand the frustration and anxiety in having to wait so long, but there is little that you can do about it.

Hi
Well I finally got my result today, after 10 long weeks since my assessment. I got enhanced mobility and standard care until 2019. I am very pleased and relieved although disappointed the award isn't longer as I know I can expect another PIP form in 2018.
Looking at the scoring was an eye opener as well, activities where I thought I would score I got nothing. Still I am very grateful I got through and would like to thank all the mods and B&W for all of your invaluable help. Well worth the subscription, I couldn't have done it without you. Many thanks. And good luck to all those going through the assessment merry go round.
