my partner suffers from anxiety and panic attacks.we went to wca medical centre and waited in the corridor away from the very busy waiting room to try and manage her condition the best way we could, but after over a hour wait and by this time she was visable distressed we was called into the assesment room, she soon suffered a panic attack and left the room in tears her file was returned to dwp and benefit was stopped, after requesting a mandatory reconsideration benefit was restored, but then received another medical appointment she attended but 10 or so minutes into the assessment she again become unwell and the heath care professional concluded that she could not cope with a face to face assesment and then called another person into the room.i beleive to be anothe hcp and they both decided to send her home and said not to worry but we have now received another wca appointment which you can imagine is causing much stress, please could anyone suggest the best way forward

Hi
I am afraid you will have to attend againunless you are happy for them to return the file to DWP saying they are unable to complete the assessment. They may say this is due to non compliance by your partner and you will have to appeal again to get the claim reopened as the DWP close claims where the assessor says they cannot do an assessment due to non compliance.
Obviously you would be able to make a submission about the previous attempts to complete an assessment. I know this situation is far from ideal. The only other suggestion I can make is to see your MP and explain the situation to them. They may be able to help or intervene on your behalf.

OR
Contact the DWP to see what is happening with her claim, it is possible that a paper assessment was done or a recommendation made on the basis of what the assessors saw at the second interview.

thanks for your reply, she has written a complaint to the centre for disability assessments as they did decide to curtail the medical on that occasion and they have wrote back saying they would look into it but she should still attend the next appointment

Would her GP support a home assessment, assuming that this would be easier, if they would then they need to write a letter to Maximus explaining why, I realise that this may be stating the obvious but coming from her GP it may make the difference.
