Hi everyone
I received a letter from dwp where they gave me 0 points for both components. At that time i didn't put a report from gp and conditions went worse with my spine. I had a mri after the assessment and on clutches now so the things went worse been to citizens advice today and they said they will consider the things as they were on the farm first either with appeal or reconsideration i am really confused what shall I do either to go for reconsideration or wait for couple of months and then apply again .any help and advice will be very useful .
Thnx

Hi
You need to look at where you think you should have scored points and didn't.
If you think you can put in a good submission to overcome the nil award then maybe do it.
If you think you will score points more easily or more points than you would on your current claim then put in a new one.
You may like to read our claim guide if you didn't use it on your current claim to see how to fill in the form to best maximise your chance of success. You may also like to read the appeal guide. Both are in the members area.

Just to confirm, the CAB are correct, neither the DWP or an appeal panel will be able to take in to account any change in your conditions that occurred after your assessment and the Decision on your claim, they can only be considered in a new claim.

I am sorry that we missed your question yesterday.

It depends, if you are not claiming any benefits at the moment (as your PIP claim was refused) then it is entirely up to you whether you work or not.

If you challenge the PIP Decision or make a new claim then there is no specific reason why you need to inform the DWP that you are working, however, the DWP do have a habit of finding these things out so you need to ensure that any work that you do would not conflict with any limitations that result from your conditions. As a hopefully absurd example; if you have stated that you have problems planning a route then your school run may be seen as incompatible with this problem.

If you are claiming other benefits such as JSA or ESA then there maybe restrictions on your working, but as you haven't posted about any other benefits I will not go into detail at this time.
