DLA was created by jennieprowse
Hi Can anyone advise me on DLA
My husband has been on high rate care and low rate mob which is a life long award. He is now entitled to high rate mob if I went ahead and informed DWP would his whole claim be changed to a PIP ? would I need to do the whole process ? We live in Scotland postcode KY1 4DQ I put this in because I know DWP work by postcode.
Please help

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Jennie,
All areas are now 'live' for PIP so any change of circumstances of DLA would trigger the process of transferring to PIP*. Once this process has started the claimant has to continue, there is no way they can change their mind and stay on DLA. I suggest you have a good look at our PIP guide so that you understand the criteria and where your husband could be expected to score points.
* for all claimants who were under the age of 65 on 08/04/2013. If you husband is older than this a change of circumstances notification would trigger a complete reassessment of DLA.

Thank you for this info. having just done my own PIP claim I don't think I could cope doing the whole process for my husband. He has also be told he has a stage 4 cancer and starts chemo this Tues so we need to focus on that. Thanks to this site I have been awarded high rate care and low mob.
Thank you
Jennie
