Living in supported accommodation was created by yumzone
I have been an inpatient in a psychiatric unit for about 6 years. I am now living in a step down unit which is classed as supported accommodation. My DLA which I was being paid to me before I was committed has now been reinstated as you are not paid the monies whilst in hospital. Even though I am now being paid the DLA I am worried if they change there mind because I'm in support accommodation. A house with four residents. 24 hr staff support
Any thoughts

Hi
Your DLA award letter should say how long it has been awarded for.
The DWP do not just stop benefits without good reason, about the only reason for doing it without warning is sanctioning.
You should be invited to claim PIP at some point. I must admit I'm a little surprised they didn't change you to PIP rather than reinstate your DLA.
