PIP Reassessment

Hi, I've looked through the threads to see if this was posted before so apologies if this is repeated.
My partner was awarded PIP just over a year ago for a two year period, we have now received a reassessment form already. Having spoken to the DWP it seems they want to do it now so they have all the information they need by the time it is up for renewal?

On their website they say they contact you 14 weeks before your claim ends not 10 months.

How can they make a true assessment now that will be relevant in almost a years time?

My partner suffers from anxiety and depression amongst other things and these assessments really make things much worse. It seems crazy that they put you through all this.

Yes, I'm afraid this is standard practice. DWP say they want to be sure a new decision is made in time although things are not taking nearly as long as they did a while ago.

Just to add to MHB's good advice above,

You should be aware that any decision made as a result of the review will take effect from the date of the review decision rather than from the original end date of your current fixed term PIP Award.

This will be the case whether the review increases the current award, reduces it, or takes it away altogether.

You should not rely on The PIP Assessors taking into account any evidence that you may have previously provided, and you should complete the review forms just as if it was your first PIP Assessment :
