PIP appeal was created by countryman
Good afternoon.
I am currently receiving DLA higher rate for both mobility and care. I have applied for PIP and my face to face is looming. Nothing has changed, if anything my symptoms are worse. I am therefore going into this with an open mind.
My questions are this.
If I do not get the award I feel I deserve and I appeal do I still get paid my DLA allowance until the appeal is resolved at either mandatory reconsideration, appeal or upper tier.
I understand all cases are different but is there an average time this takes to complete.
I have searched the PIP appeals but could not find my answer.
Thank you all very much.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Welcome to the forum.
Whatever the Decision on your PIP claim, your DLA will stop 4 week later, this is the case even if you appeal. If an award of PIP is made, then you will continue to receive this if you decide to challenge it, if no award is made then you will not receive anything unless the Decision is revised.
I would expect you to have a Decision 2-4 weeks after your assessment.

Thanks for the quick reply. I forgot to ask. If for example my dla finishes on 01/03/2016 but I have still not received a decision on PIP, does my DLA still continue until they reach the first decision.....say another 2 weeks to 14/03/2016.

Yes, they should extend your DLA claim as necessary until a Decision in made on your PIP claim.
