support group and zero PIP was created by Peawack
My relative was awarded ESA Support group and very soon after was given zero points for her PIP application. Can we argue that this zero points decision is an indication that the PIP assessment is unreliable ? How can a successful ESA claim be made to look irrelevant just days later. I realise that the two applications are assessed seperately, but is it worth mentioning to the forthcoming appeal tribunal.

You can but you would need to show that the reasons they were awarded ESA are relevant to their PIP claim. Even where the two benefits overlap, the award criteria can be very different.

Thanks, Gordon.
As far as I know the basis of the two claims were identical, so I think it is worth looking at.

As Gordon says you need to look at the descriptors for each benefit and highlight the discrepancies between them, like where one awards more points for an exercise or accepts you can't do something for one and says you can on the other. Then you use one as evidence against the other.
