Pip appeal won but not over yet was created by Catsinc
After attending my appeal last Tuesday, which was akin to appearing in court as a defendent! Nothing like my dla appeal. Wanting to know when I had the wheelchair, where I got it, did I pay for it.weird questions. They grilled me for 45 minutes! Even the dwp representative asked questions.
Anyway they overturned the decision and I received the letter 2 days later. Yesterday I called pip to ask fir a vehicle tax exemption form to be told we won't send one for 28 days as we have 28 days to look at the courts decision and decide if we agree with it. So I won't be receiving any letters from them stating I have been awarded it.
The person on the phone hadn't asked my name so the advice wasn't specifically for me.
Is this now the normal practice? It wasn't like that with the dla one. I'm praying they won't take it to the 2nd tier tribunal! Thank you

Hi
It is true they have 28 days to appeal.
It is very, very unlikely, I have never heard of it.
However they use the possibility to jerk people around for a few more weeks.
Bad loser syndrome

Thank you for replying. Could you tell me what the average timescale is. From appeal decision to receiving notice of the award from pip please?

Hi Cs,
4-8 Weeks on average, although if you haven't heard by the 4-5 week mark you could give them a nudge by posting them a copy of your Tribunal Decision Notice letter.
You can receive notification and back payment from DWP PIP much sooner, it depends are whether they are considering appealing the decision, which is not that common, how busy the individual Office is, and the amount of any back payments owed :
Sending Documents to the DWP.
