Hi Gordon, I rang them and also sent a letter to confirm I don't need the info after all. The lady has written it on their computer to confirm not to send it out and was very helpful.

Thanks for the advice again. I can see i tend to blunder along at times getting into a muddle, and hope that others reading this can see that if I followed the advice first things might have been a bit easier for me!

I think in retrospect it can help to not make emotional decisions and just deal with things calmly and methodically.

What happens now? Do they just start paying it again as before with a kind of back payment? If they (DWP) want to challenge it would I hear about that? I guess as the decision was made at the start of the month they would need to do this by the start of next month.

Thanks and hope this might be the last question! OB

See my answer on page 37 :)

The DWP have one month to request the SoR

Once the Decision is accepted you will receive an updated payment letter and back Payments from the date of the Decision you appealed.

Thanks.

I'm hopeful they won't as even without the SoR i can see the points the appeal have chosen are actually thinks with a lot of evidence behind and actually although stressful I am not in a situation where I can see that the decision made now actually makes more sense than either of the PIP assessments previously.

So hopefully this has all been for the best.

I wanted to say to anyone having to appeal or going through MR or problems with DWP not assessing properly, it can be incredibly frustrating but if you get through to the Appeals service don't be scared by them; they actually seem more efficient, and trustworthy in a way. That's my experience anyway.

From beginning to end although this post is long it has basically been from April till now so around 4 months in total which is not really that bad I suppose. I think I had possibly just been lucky in the past as have usually found them OK to deal with for IB / ESA and until now, PIP.

It's now 1st September one month since the appeal and haven't heard anything. I suppose this might be a good sign as they would have asked for the SoR within a month if they were going to challenge it?

Hopefully will hear something soon.

I would give it another week and then chase them for an update.
