Audio recording at PIP Medical was created by W Webber
Hi
I have received notice that I am required to attend for a Medical in Cardiff on 23rd March. However the notes supplied state that I must bring my OWN recording device which is capable of producing 2 audio copies.
Surely this can`t be right?

Any advice would be truly welcome

Thanks

Hi WW,

Welcome to Benefits and Work Forum :)

With the ESA WCA, Maximus provide the recording equipment when requested to do so.

For a PIP face to face Capita nor ATOS will provide the equipment.

The claimant has to provide equipment capable of making two simultaneous recordings on CD ot Cassette Tape.

Once the F2F is over one copy will be given to The Assessor.

We have heard from members where they have been allowed to use 2 x Cassette Tape Dictaphones.

Capita's policy on this is Here and ATOS's is : Here

You can read what to expect from around Page 69 of our : PIP Claims Guide. (2nd Link down the page)

The following may help further :

An insight into how the PIP Assessor fills in The PA4 Medical Report : Here.

The latest version of : The PIP Assessment Guide which was updated on 28th July 2015.

You should be aware that how you manage the return trip to/from the Assessment Centre will be taken into account as part of the actual assessment.

You may be observed on approaching, leaving and whilst inside the centre.

Assumptions may be made by the assessor with regards to the above.

These assumptions could result in the assessor writing comments/recommendations within the PA 4 medical report which they compile and send to The DWP.
