she was previously on 'lifetime DLA' for a whole multitude of physical problems. however now its all changed she had to have a medical (home visit) with ATOS for 'PIP', this medical was almost 3 weeks ago now, and today she recieved a letter from the DWP saying something along the lines of 'sorry it is taking longer than usual to make a decision, we have all the report and evidence and will be in touch soon'
she was told it would take between 6-8 weeks, so how is under 3 weeks ''taking longer than usual''?

she has been stressing out alot over it.
any ideas what this could mean? and why shes been sent a letter?

Up until the New Year Decision were taking 1-2 weeks they have slowed since then but we would still expect then to 3-5 weeks.

It's the new touch feely user friendly DWP!
It's a standard letter.

Hi j,
It is becoming more common since the New Year due to the slowing down of the process !!
i.e. Several other members have reported receiving such letters !

We had a similar letter 16 days after a HCP assessment at home, followed up by the Decision letter 4 days later.
Our assessment by the HCP was good as was the outcome.Indefinite award Enhanced rate for both care/mobility.
