Hi - I applied for pip last august and got the award at enhanced mobility and standard care. I got a motobility car in the September. Things got worse care wise just before Christmas and I applied for a reassessment. I had my face to face at home on 7/3/16. The assessor did not show me her ID - I had to ask her for it and she displayed a lack of professionalism as she made a derogatory comment about the state of my house. I was telling her about my faecal incontinence and she had a really distasteful look on her face.
I had the decision from them on 31/3/16 and I only scored 6 points for daily living and 0 points for moving around! In the letter the decision makers comment bore very little relation to what I had told the assessor.
Needless to say I am appealing this decision but what I want to know is can they penalise me for using my previous award on a motobility car?
Do I make a complaint about the distress the assessor caused me by her comments?
Thank you

Hi Houndie and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I'm sorry that you are going through this :(

You can do one of two things at this point - ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration of this decision or reapply. Unless you think you made a poor job of the application, there is probably little point of reapplying rather than asking for an MR but that is up to you.

You have one month from the date of the decision letter in which to get your MR request submitted and the process is covered in detail in our PIP guides

PIP help for claimants

It will be helpful to ask for the assessor's report as this will give you more information than the decision letter, you can phone and request this if you wish but we always advise following it up in writing. However, you should not delay submitting the MR request if the report has not arrived, you can always state that you will send in more information later.

I'm afraid I don't understand your comment about being penalised for having a Motability vehicle? However, I am sorry to say that your car will have to go back to Motability as you did not get the mobility component either :(

Yes, you are perfectly entitled to complain about the way the assessor behaved - but you should make this a separate issue from your MR. You can complain to DWP, ATOS/Capita and the assessors regulatory bodies. Your MP might like to hear how claimant's are being treated too!
