ATOS assessment was created by Linda
I have been called to an assessment for PIP renewal and they are not sending me a form to complete prior to the appointment. I am worried I will be at a disadvantage and want to be well prepared for this assessment.I have Consultants reports etc to take with me but can I take notes I have made about how my condition affects me and refer to them myself.I cannot remember everything and am really anxious! and worried they do not ask and I do not say enough.I am listed by DWP as someone who needs" additional support" therefore this is the reason I do not need to complete the form according to them.

What can I expect and any advice would be most welcome. Also can I take someone with me into the assessment and can they prompt me if required?

I have assessment centres near me but they kept offering locations that were impossible for me to do by public transport.I asked for a home visit and they refused as Im not housebound but they agreed to allow me to get a taxi still a long out of the way journey past two near locations where they do assessments.
I have to pay around 100.00 and wait up to two weeks for reimbursement. Im guessing they can do this?

You posted about a month ago that you were having problems receiving a new PIP2 to complete, did you resolve this with the DWP?

If you have notes, letters and reports that you can give to the assessor then this would be a good idea, but make sure that you only give them copies of these documents.

Yes, you can take someone with you to the assessment and they can be in the room with you.

It's not unusual for ATOS to use taxis they will reimburse you quite quickly.

Hi Thanks for your answer.
Yes I did not ever receive the renewal form they admit they have yet to send it but have decided to go ahead with my assessment anyway. They said all questions will be asked at the face to face so I will take notes with me to help cover as much as I can. My assessment is next week.

If you have a look at the PIP Claim guide there is a section towards the back that covers the assessment and the questions you are likely to be asked.

Best of luck
