I need to apply for PIP in October 2016. I have just been awarded early retirement on grounds of ill-health. I am an above the knee amputee and have related other health issues:
a) presumably I will still have to apply for PIP? Does anyone know please? b) my first pension payment is at the end of this month (29th). When should I inform ESA of this?
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
As you don't explain why you need to claim PIP in October it's a little bit difficult to offer advice, if it is because a DLA award will end then, then I would expect you to be contacted about claiming PIP about 20 weeks in advance.
I would inform the ESA department as soon as you have confirmation of the rate at which your pension will be paid at, the notice needs to be in writing and I would chase them if you have not heard back within four weeks.
