I am in the process of filling in my application form for pip was on DLA. I am waiting to go in for an operation hopefully in the next six months. I am going to put this on the application form but am concerned I will get a date for an assessment and then a date for the op. I'm not mobile now but will be even worse for at least six weeks after the procedure. Are they going to be awkward if I cannot attend on the date specified and class it as a no show. I am really dreading this.

The important thing is to pre-empt the situation by informing them.
Your entitled to cancel one appointment, but will normally need to attend the second unless you can provide Good Cause for being unable to, having an operation should meet this requirement.
