Hi IDS and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Love the irony of your username!

Is this a recent award that you wish to challenge, or a worsening of your condition? I am assuming the latter but do come back and let us know if I am wrong!

You need to contact DWP and report a 'change of circumstances'. This will trigger a full reassessment including form and, possibly, face2face assessment.

If you are under 16 or were over 65 in April 2013 and on DLA, this will be a DLA renewal.

Otherwise this will be a PIP claim, even if you are on DLA now.

I do suggest that you have a look at our PIP self-assessment, score yourself harshly and see whether you believe you can score 8 points in the care section. If so, you have a good chance of your claim being successful.

PIP help for claimants

You should also make full use of the guide when filling in the forms!

The DLA guides are here, if you are one of the people for whom this will be relevant

DLA changes and renewals

You might wish to bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future. That will allow you to return with further questions/comments throughout the process without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one place - and I hope you will find it useful too
