Change of Circumstances

I am a carer for My Husband and claim income support.
I notified DWP of an increase in savings/Capital on 5th May 2016.
I have not had any correspondence from them as Yet but They have not paid any income support in today, when it is normally due.
Does anyone know When and What correspondence I should get from them.
I presumed They would want to see Bank statements etc, before looking at My Claim again.
I did inform them that There would be in the region of £15700 in savings.
Thank You.

I'm sorry, it must have been quite a shock for you when the money did not turn up!
You should get a letter saying why you have not been paid but the correspondence is often slow to arrive.
I'm assuming that payment has been suspended while DWP look into this as your savings are very near the upper limit and they do not want to risk an overpayment.
Did you let them know when your savings went over £6000?
All I can suggest now is that you phone DWP on Monday and ask what is happening. It is entirely possible that this will necessitate a call back from a manager as the call centre workers are often poorly trained.

Yes I will be phoning on Monday, I was just hoping They would have sent some correspondence by now.
I informed them as soon as the extra capital appeared, It is what was left over after selling Our previous Home. They are fully aware of the situation.
I also informed Housing Benefit as We are now in a Council Property, They have been a little quicker to reply, and I will be taking My Bank Statements etc in to them personally on Monday.
Anyway I hope I get some sort of answer Monday.
Thanks again!

I'm afraid it is normal for them to suspend payment where there is a potential for over payment, especially as you are so close the £16,000 limit. Don't forget it is not just savings, it is the money in your current accounts, shares, Premium Bonds, even the cash in your pockets that is included.
