Hi All, i hope i can explain this ok, I have had a medical condition for 17yrs, the last few years i have been ' parked ' by my consultant as there is nothing else to offer me except to increase meds and then reduce again when under control. I have requested SAR from DWP relating to my renewal for ESA which last month i was placed back in the support group after F2F. I am trying to get prepared for PIP which will b changing from DLA that i am on at the moment, i was wondering if it would be worthwhile requesting my hospital notes, would you be able to pick and choose what evidence to use from them to support your claim or like i said for a few years there would probably be nothing to help my claim can you use old evidence ,so not sure if it would be worth paying for records. Hope i have explained this ok. I would welcome any advice you can give.

We're not really in a position to answer this, you know your issues and how they affect you, you have an understanding of the treatment you have had and whether If might be relevant to a PIP claim when you have to make one.
Medical reports that are over two years old tend not to carry much weight unless they contain an diagnosis or they report problems and the underlying conditions are ones that will not improve or will in fact get worse.
So it's really up to you.
