pip medical stopped by health professional was created by issie
has anyone had a similar experience - I supported a family member to their pip medical only for them to be told with an apology that in their view they should not have been called for a medical given the extensive information already supplied (thanks b&w btw) - so we were sent off promptly thereafter - still waiting to hear on the outcome though - told to expect a decision within 4 to 8 weeks ... issie

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Yes issie, this does happen sometimes. The DWP Decision Maker does not have to agree with the recommendation but it is unusual for them not to. Decisions are taking upwards of 8 weeks at the moment.

Hi,
When I was going thru the mill to claim PIP from Indefinite A ward high rate DLA care & mobility, I too had to have an Assessment.
We had sent in lots of information and a fully completed PIP2 form.
When the Assessor arrived to conduct the assessment she too said she could not understand why a visit was necessary, considering all the relevant paperwork that was provided and historical evidence they had already.
She, the Assessor explained that they are told whom to visit and it is not their decision when reading the compilation we send in.
It seems that common sense does not prevail.
Luckily enough my Indefinite award was provided with enhanced mobility/care rate for PIP.
Good luck
