HI I'm new to the site and also new to this whole process. I have just been awarded standard care component and high rate mobility but prior to this I was unsuccessful with ESA. I didn't appeal as I just didn't have the energy and the process was very stressful. Am I able to still appeal or do I have to start from the beginning again? I've been in a bad place for the past year and really need to take control again any advice would be most welcome on any more information on what I am entitled to would be most helpful

Kind regards

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

Whether or not you can appeal depends on when the decision to deny ESA was made.

Did you ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration, or did you not take it that far?

There is an absolute cut-off at 13 months, if it is less than that, an appeal might be possible.

If you can let us have more information we will do our best to help.

You might wish to bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future. That will allow you to return with additional information, or further questions, without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one place - and I hope it will help you too :)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
