ESA ASSESMENT ADVICE. was created by StuartDeal
I am currently in the Support Group due to Mental Illness - Personality Disorder. I have had 2 paper based assesements but now i have been called for a face-to-face one my condition is life long and hasnt changed. Can i ask why i now need to go to an assesement and is there any way to get it cancelled and a paper based assesment carried out?

Assessment decisions are made by Maximus who took over from ATOS last year, their rules for requiring an assessment appear to be different from their predecessors, I'm afraid you will find it difficult to overcome the requirement but it is not impossible.

First of all you need to get the help of your GP, I think it very unlikely that the requirement will be removed without their input, you need them to write to Maximus, explaining the problems you would have with attending at their offices and the impact that a face to face to face assessment would have on your health.

You can also try involving your MP, but you need the GP letter first.
