I have my Pip medical this week and I'm absolutely petrified. I used to be a disabled benefits advisor with the Citizens Advice Bureau but this doesn't seem to have given me any confidence when completing my own Pip form.

I was hoping probably with some arrogance that I wouldn't need to go for the assessment. I submitted 15 letters from different specialists diagnosing my illnesses and disabilities a repeat prescription detailing the 20 tablets and for injections but I have to take daily. As well as getting prayers for an excellent application form by my community psychiatric nurse.

Having leads the essential information on this website I now feel that I don't stand a chance and the even turn it up for the assessment means I will lose points for being competent enough to do so.

I am now picturing a scenario where everything I do is going to be studied by all the staff at the assessment centre for the moment I leave the taxi to the waiting room sitting on the chairs and then walking into the office the whole experience is beginning to give me panic attacks.

I did request a home visit but that seems to have been totally ignored by ATOS.

Under the DLA scheme I was awarded high rate mobility and high rate care I am happy to feedback to the group as to what this equate to in p i p terms

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

I am sorry that you are going through this and finding it so distressing :(

Our PIP guide has a section that tells you what to expect from the face2face assessment. Don't forget that the qualifying criteria for PIP are very different from those for DLA.

You might like to bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future. This will allow you to return and tell us how you get on (and ask further questions) without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one topic - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
