Change of address

Just to advise members that if you change address you cannot do a redirection for DWP, if you do they will sanction any benefits you get. You must ring the DWP for each benefit ie ESA and PIP as I found out to my cost. I rang DLA to advise my COA and the man said they would update the system so ESA would be advised of the update. I took him at his word but later realised my ESA had been stopped. When I rang ESA tel number he told me that someone had reported I had moved so my ESA had been sanctioned. In reality he was very nasty with me and told me that due to me moving I was no longer eligible for ESA. I had to tell him it was me that had rung DLA. As I was on contribution based and in support group, not claiming HB or any other income based benefits I had moved in with my daughter so my entitlement to ESA should not be affected. My ESA payments were backdated and resumed.
