PIP assessment - Left disheartened and broken was created by Missjenniferd
Hi

I suffer with a personality disorder bipolar severe anxiety plus I am a chronic asthmatic suffering from pneumonia at present. I get extreme paranoia and will not go out of the house as a result. I cannot deal with strangers or be amongst strangers as I feel threatened. I have completed my pip questionnaire detailing my thoughts and fears and how I suffer with severe panic attacks which are extreme due to my asthma and I have received an assessment today. Already I am suffering with anxiety and panic attacks and feel as though I cannot go through with it and giving up. My behaviour can be quite aggressive if I feel threatened or frightened. I really don't know what to do.

I've moved your post into it's own topic!

We ask members not to post their own questions on to other's topics, it's not fair on the original poster and can lead to the wrong advice being given or taken.

Can someone go with you to the assessment?

Would a home assessment make it easier for you? You might not be able to get one, but if it would be helpful speak to your GP and ask whether they would write a letter to the assessment provider explaining why you cannot attend at their offices.

If you have a look at the PIP Claim guide there is a section at the back that covers the assessment process and the questions you are likely to be asked.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
