Husband has had a massive stroke was created by dicon
Hi,
My husband had massive stroke 10 weeks ago. Been out of hospital 3 weeks now, I am currently on the sick but will have to return to my full time job soon, because of the financial side of things. Is there any benefits out there that we can claim besides pip which I already know about, hubby on ssp at the moment.

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I'm sorry you and your husband are going through this :(

If/when your husband's SSP ends he will be able to claim ESA. Until then, I think the only things possible will be 'in work' benefits such as working tax credit. I'm afraid we do not offer advice on these, so please don't take my word for it! You might want to put your details into a site such a 'turn2us' to see if there is anything else available to you.

www.turn2us.org.uk/

If the time comes to claim ESA and/or PIP don't forget to make full use of our guides.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
