I have just been reading that any medical evidence I send has to be from within the last two years. This presents me with two problems. One is that I was diagnosed with Hypermobility Syndrome (a life-long condition) in 2004. I used to attend a specialist clinic in Leeds once a year but the consultant retired and the Leeds Hospital Trust stopped funding the clinic. So any letters I have from there are over two years old.

Also I have had mental health difficulties since 1992. However my GP currently manages my condition and although I have been on 6 different types of anti-depressant, because of sensitivity to medication and them ultimately stopping helping I am not on any at the moment. I have found a whole pile of care plans from the Community Mental Health team covering a long period of time but all over two years old. They no longer give long-term support, only brief interventions. However I hoped to send these as they show the very long-term nature of my conditions and how my symptoms have remained the same over a long period of time (helpful I would have thought to help them gauge how long my situation is likely to continue).

All the Best

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

  			 				Hi Lesley,

You should send in anything that you think will help, don't be constrained by the '2 year' thing. If your diagnosis was longer ago than 2014, it is obvious that you would want to submit this in support of your claim.

In addition, many people with long-term conditions are being 'parked' by the NHS as there is nothing further that can be offered, so there are a lot of people in a similar situation to you!
