What a fiasco.
After waiting for approx 4 months after posting in my wife's assessment forms I took her to the assessment yesterday. Appointment was 3.45 pm. Arrived as requested 10 minutes early only to be told they were running behind and might have to give another appointment in approx 6 weeks as they were swamped and running so far behind. The queues were massive. Luckily with lots of persuasion they allowed her in at 4.45. Then in for one full hour. It's a disgrace when if we had cancelled they would threaten the benefit. Total joke. Maximus are obviously no better than the previous people. The place was in an uproar. People crying and shouting. A disgrace.

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

The assessment providers are known to overbook the appointments so that the assessors are kept busy even if people don't turn up. Of course, claimants are aware of the risks of not keeping these appointments and tend not to cancel unless they really have to. As a result, claimants can be kept waiting for long periods of time or, as almost happened to your wife, be sent away.

I hope your wife doesn't have to wait too long for a decision and that, when it does arrive, it is the one she deserves.

You might wish to bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future. This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your wife's ESA without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one place - and I hope you will find it useful too :)
