Complaince officer visit exemption? was created by brucea1
I received a letter dated the 8th of July, stating that I would be visited by a compliance officer on the 13th of July.

Due to a past experience with the benefits system that caused me to have a nervous breakdown, I can no longer attend any assessments or anything where I have to deal with anyone face to face regarding my benefits, as I just can not trust them.

I have to send letters from my doctors explaining it is not possible for me to attend such things regarding my benefits every time something pops up.

is there an exemption from these compliance officer visits for people who can not consider them due to mental health issues?
&
Where would I send my evidence to?

I am not refusing to provide them with the info they need.
I could have my support worker or doctors send all the information, proof, or evidence they want, I just cant deal with these people directly, or allow them in my property due to my anxiety and trust issues, amongst other problems.

Thank you

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I have not heard of anyone who has been exempted from these visits. However, that's not to say that it never happens.

You should phone the number on the letter and ask to whom you should send evidence that you are not able to undergo this kind of appointment. You should emphasise that you are happy to provide whatever information they wish and that you will co-operate in every other way.

You might also need to get your MP involved.
