No phone calls was created by Pat
I have read somewhere a quote saying to DWP "don't phone me to make an assessment" can anyone tell me what or where this quote would be. I know it's there somewhere I read it out loud but I cannot find it now.

Thanks
Patio.

Hi Pat and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

The comment you mentioned could be relating to the phone number boxes on the claim forms. Some members prefer all communication to be in writing.

Other than that, the Mandatory Reconsideration sample letter also says that the MR request can only be withdrawn by the claimant in writing. DWP are not to assume that you have cancelled your request due to any verbal bullying on their part.

Is this what you mean, or have I got hold of the wrong end of the stick?

If you wish to respond to my comment, or ask further questions, please reply to this message and we will do our best to help. You will find it easily in future if you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now :)

Thanks for you reply but what I saw was printed like a quote in italics stating that any phone calls where you are expected to give answers straight away would not be welcomed. I have used this quote before and when I saw it again I read it out so know I did not dream it but did nor write it down as I thought I would be able to find it again how wrong I was.
Thanks
Pat

Is this what you were talking about?

If, on the other hand, a telephone conversation would not be an effective way of collecting evidence from you, then it is worth saying so on your form PIP1 form and explaining why. For example, you may find it very difficult to concentrate on the phone or may be too anxious to talk without having a friend or relative with you. If you are telephoned by Atos or Capita and you pick up, point out what you said on your form and explain that this is likely to constitute a reasonable adjustment under the Equality Act and ignoring your quest may be unlawful.
