My husband as been on DLA for 18 years, for the first 2 years of that he was off sick signed off for ever, he then at that time decided to ask the GP if he could do a little part time self employed writing from home to save going mad.
The dr advised he should take it easy, but the last 16 years he as been self employed, with me is paid carer, and he is on a tax credit with middle rate care DLA and a Motibilty car these last 18 years.
He got to the stage where he no longer can work , and the GP will be signing him off for good, but first in the next 4 or 7 weeks we have our DLA to PIP call up, we are sitting tight and hope we get the change from DLA to PIP an easy one, because of all his evidence and GP backing.
But where or what do we do about him finally being able to not have to work anymore in the situation we are in.
